Let’s get to it.
Cleaning
First of all, to have a healthy and radiant face, it is necessary to clean the skin. And in my opinion, cleansing should be, on the one hand, daily, using handmade soaps indicated for your skin type, soft natural fiber sponges and make-up remover products, in case you apply make-up.
On the other hand a weekly or biweekly deep cleansing (for normal, combination and oily skin it will be weekly and for sensitive skin biweekly), it will depend on your skin. In this case for me the most natural and healthy way are clays, as they provide a lot of vitamins and minerals generating an exfoliation, thus eliminating so many dead cells, free radicals and blackheads. They also help to regulate the natural bait of our skin.
Other ways to exfoliate the skin are scrubs, I really like them, they are easy to make and you can make them with products that we all have at home. In another post I will tell you how to make your own homemade scrub.
Toning
The next step is toning, which helps remove traces of cleansing products, tightens pores and prepares the skin for moisturizing. You can tone your face with warm water or make your own toner. They usually come in plastic spray bottles because it is the most practical way to apply it. But you can also do it at home, and apply it with towels or reusable rounds, thus avoiding the environmental impact of so much plastic around.
A tonic is made from water, but for a much more effective effect we add phyto-ingredients. And how? Well, let me simplify it for you. You can make a hydrolat yourself, buy it, or make an infusion. And voila you have your own 100% natural tonic. Of course it would take preservative, but in case we do not put it, just keep it in the fridge, in a container that you can reuse and is well cleaned and disinfected, for a week. I do not recommend more than a week, since not having a preservative could lead to the formation of fungi or growth of unwanted microorganisms.
And what can you infuse? The classics are calendula, chamomile, yerba mate, mint, lavender, rosemary, thyme, etc. If you wish, you can make a mix. If you have any doubts about which herb is the most suitable for your skin type, you can leave us a comment and we will be happy to help you.
The tonics are used after each cleansing and before moisturizing, so at least 2 times a day.
Moisturizing and nutrition
The third step is hydration, moisturizing and nutrition. And this comes in different formats such as creams, lotions, serums, eye contours, balms etc. All skin needs to be moisturized to prevent the appearance of wrinkles, blemishes and acne. Oily skin also needs moisturizing, this way it will help in the process of seboregulation of the glands to prevent and eliminate the appearance of blackheads, pimples and acne.

And finally, when we talk about nourishing the face, we always forget about our lips. We leave them aside and only remember them when they get cut, chapped or dry from the cold or heat. Extra care
And the fourth step, but not less important is to maintain a varied diet of healthy food, rich in vegetables and fruits, drink plenty of water, try not to smoke and consume little alcohol. If we add to this some physical exercise and relaxation techniques, it will be ideal for the appearance of our skin, which will be free of toxins.
Finally, avoid exposing ourselves to the sun like lizards without sunscreen. I know we all want color on our skin, especially when summer arrives, but health is more important, because without health we cannot show off. With each passing year, unfortunately, the sun causes more damage, and our skin is thin and delicate. Unprotected exposure leads to wrinkles, spots, dryness and serious skin diseases.
